Refrigerant R22 will become difficult to obtain starting in 2015.
Isn't the refrigerant in your air conditioner R22? We recommend upgrading to an air conditioner that uses a new refrigerant.
Air conditioners from over 10 years ago primarily use HCFC (R22) refrigerant. This refrigerant contains components that destroy the ozone layer, so its production has been significantly regulated, with a near-total phase-out by 2020. Especially since 2015, due to shortages and rising prices, it is expected that "if an air conditioner breaks down, it may not be repaired immediately." As refrigerants are changing for environmental and energy-saving reasons, it is recommended to update to air conditioners that use new refrigerants with lower environmental impact as soon as possible.
